Flamingo in the Dark, by Bea Nettles (2014 F295 alum) is a “visual narrative autobiography that starts with her girlhood in Florida and starts over with her daughter, Rachel’s first year.” It’s a marvelous collection of images based on her “experiences and fantasies.” Each image is interpreted and printed using the 19th century gum-bichromate process.
Published by Inky Press in 1979, the 11.25×11.25″ 62 page volume collects 66 plates from the series. Introduction by Bea Nettles.
